What is the process of psychotherapy? What can psychotherapy offer to a person? What is like to be in the patient's role? Below you will find some useful information attempting to answer these questions

Fast-pace living together with the political upheavals and the economic system which influences individualism, it is evident that tenderness, security, authenticity, and the true meaning for being alive is missing in our current times. Consequently, human nature is structured to protect our mental state, and hence it deploys several strategies (psychoanalysis defines them as defense mechanisms) to soothe the emotional pains and devastations, in order to make life bearable to a degree. That being the case, psychothearpy is nothing more than a proccess to help the person break free from these strategies, by providing the elements that are missing from one's life such as tenderness and emotional security, with the aim to help individuals embrace the pain that was once avoided and make their own congruent choices rather than living without responsibility and puprose (Thompson 2016). Psychotherapy is a procces through which humans become their own organism, with the goal to experience a life without illusions or distortions (Rogers 1961). The only indegrients that are needed for this to work is a good dose of courage, the willingness for change, self-honesty and patience. Succeeding in that, the role of the patient can truly become therapeutic.
